Neil Solomons, MDDirector
Neil Solomons, MD is a pharmaceutical physician with 27 years experience in drug development and medical affairs. Areas of expertise
include autoimmune diseases such as lupus and myasthenia gravis, solid organ transplant and virology (hepatitis B). He is a co-founder and
former Chief Medical Officer of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:AUPH) bringing Lupkynis™ to market for lupus nephritis in US, EU and Japan.
Prior to this is held roles in clinical development at Roche, Vifor and Aspreva. He is a board certified anesthesiologist and Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (London). He trained in medicine at Guys Hospital Medical School.
Robert Booth, PhDDirector
Dr. Booth initiated the BTK inhibitor program at Celera Genomics, Inc. that ultimately became Pharmacyclics, Inc.’s IMBRUVICA® (ibrutinib), the blockbuster drug that changed the paradigm of treatment for many hematological cancers.
Dr. Booth was most recently an adjunct professor at Stanford University School of Medicine. He has over 30 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry from executive positions to research and scientific leadership primarily focusing in the areas of oncology, inflammation, and autoimmune disease. He is the co-founder of CuraSen Therapeutics, Inc. where he was previously the Executive Chairman and currently serves as an advisor. He was also the co-founder and CEO of Virobay, Inc. and Ab Initio Biotherapeutics. Prior to Virobay, Dr. Booth was an operating partner at TPG Inc. in its biotech fund and served as the Chief Scientific Officer of Celera Genomics. He spent more than a decade in roles of increasing responsibility in research and business development culminating in a Senior Vice President role at Hoffman-La Roche AG (“Roche”). Dr. Booth currently serves on the boards of Summit Therapeutics, Thryv Therapeutics Inc., and Acurex Biosciences. He previously served on the boards of Pharmacyclics, Inc., CymaBay Inc., Virobay Inc., Myoforte Therapeutics, and Ab Initio Biotherapeutics. He graduated from the University of London with his PhD in biochemistry.
Gordon Ringold, PhDExecutive Chairman of the Board
Gordon Ringold, Ph.D., is CEO of Quadriga BioSciences. He is currently on the board of directors of Okava Pharmaceuticals. From 1997 to 2015, he served in various capacities as Co-Founder and/or CEO of Maxygen, SurroMed, Alexza, and Alavita. From 1991 to 2000, Dr. Ringold was CEO and Scientific Director of Affymax Research Institute (acquired by Glaxo in 1995) where he managed the development of novel technologies to accelerate the pace of drug discovery; prior to that he was VP and Director of the Institute for Cancer and Developmental Biology at Syntex Corporation (1986-1991).
Dr. Ringold received his Ph.D. in the laboratory of Dr. Harold Varmus, before joining the Stanford University School of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology (1978-1987). While on the Stanford faculty he invented technologies for manufacturing of recombinant proteins in mammalian cells, now widely used for production of dozens of therapeutic products and received the John J. Abel Award as the best Pharmacologist in the US under the age of 35. Dr. Ringold is an alumnus of Crown College, University of California, Santa Cruz, 1972.
Bernd Jandeleit, PhDSenior Vice President,
Research and Discovery
Dr. Jandeleit boasts a distinguished career spanning over 25 years in the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industries. As part of the senior management team and SVP of Research & Discovery at Maxymune Therapeutics, he advances pipeline assets, identifies novel autoimmune targets and assets and supports all corporate development efforts. Previously, Dr. Jandeleit served as VP of Chemistry at Kodiak Sciences where he pioneered their ABCD® platform technologies – antibody biopolymer conjugate drug – integrating multifaceted therapies to treat ophthalmic diseases. Dr. Jandeleit co-founded Quadriga BioSciences, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. As VP of Chemistry, he drove corporate development, IP protection, and also led their R&D efforts. He co-invented QBS72S, a targeted small molecule chemotherapeutic, tailored to treat (metastatic) CNS and systemic cancers and also developed amino acid transporter inhibitors for immunological diseases. Dr. Jandeleit held escalating roles at XenoPort where he helped establish their Transported Prodrugs™ platform to improve biopharmaceutical properties of parent drugs.
Dr. Jandeleit began his career at Symyx Technologies, Inc., a leader in combinatorial and high-throughput R&D in catalysis and materials science. He is a sought-after consultant and is credited with over 40 granted patents, numerous pending applications, and more than 35 peer-reviewed publications. Several of his drug candidates have been licensed for further development. He conducted postdoctoral research in K.C. Nicolaou’s labs at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla and earned his award-winning MS and PhD degrees from the RWTH Aachen University in Germany under D. Enders.
Tatjana Naranda, PhDPresident,
Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Naranda has over 25 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry from executive positions to research and scientific leadership, bridging life sciences, strategy and drug development. From 2020-2024 Tatjana served as Chief R&D officer for Ferrer primarily focusing in the area of neurodegenerative disorders. Prior to that, from 2016, Tatjana was President and Chief Operating Officer at Alexza developing products in CNS on proprietary drug-device platform. She joined Alexza in 2005 and held various senior executive positions including Vice President, Business Development and Global Alliance Management. Prior to joining Alexza, from 1996 to 2005, Tatjana was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of Receptron, Inc. a private biotech company.
Tatjana received a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Biological Chemistry in the School of Medicine at UC Davis. She received an MBA from Golden Gate University, and a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Zagreb in Croatia.
